In mid 1999 after recruiting Ryan of Lower Hutt grind scum Backyard Burial, the band entered C. Moore Sounds studio in Wellington to record this four-track EP.

The track "Blokk" was also the subject of a first attempt at a music video.

wild years of remorse and failures est un office des ténèbres moderne : à la place des lumières qui s'éteignent au fur et à mesure, ce sont les instruments qui disparaissent et le fait que ce soit une compilation des deux premiers albums de stroszek le met encore plus en évidence. les guitares électriques s'évanouissent, les samples se raréfient, la batterie se calme et la folk s'engage toujours plus dans la voie acoustique. même la voix se fait plus fatiguée, spectrale. beau et hypnotique.
