about

Having accepted that the silence suggests we do in fact appear to be alone, what does that mean?

It is central to Monsterworks' philosophy that an intelligent species, such as humans, must inevitably evolve into a supreme interconnected being. Once we create and integrate with a superior artificial intelligence then the result is a one-way ticket to godhood. Yet, despite my conviction on this point, we do not observe any evidence for god other than fragments of faith. Why is that?

One explanation is that intelligence, including our own and any other that has evolved out there, must have destroyed itself - possibly through greed and being too late to recognise severe threats to survival. There is no god, therefore we are doomed. This realisation, even as an unprovable theory, should bear heavy upon us. Unfortunately, it is self-evident we will not learn a lesson from it. So, yeah. Enjoy the rest of your day.

lyrics

One reason for no god
Is that the path from intelligence is doomed
It is a crushing realisation to conclude the future is hopeless
Masses scramble to consume overwhelmed by the weight of emptiness

Choked out by greed and lack of foresight
Until you know loss you know not life, right down to its root

Certain to fall
Weight of emptiness

Competition, the slave driver
All fates converge to extinction

It is nature to be destroyed

Monsterworks London, UK

MONSTERWORKS : has unashamedly stolen from a ludicrous number of metal sub-genres to create a truly unique beast. Be it thrash, death, old-school, prog or black metal, there is something for everyone. Expect wailing guitars, wailing screams and a pounding rhythm section, delivered by a four-man war of sound. Surely they can’t be serious? ... more
