All creation begins with a moment of becoming Where one’s [a new, a unique] nature is crystallised Closing a loop from impossible distal ends Where the Maiden lay in a cave Hidden for fear of paradox As a realist in a corporeal world Default position disbelief But with the breakdown of cohesion War for reason lost There is nothing new under the sun All fates resigned Cyclic history, weary observation Common themes malign If you are in search of the next profound philosophy Enter overwhelming disappointment Prepare for defeat Almost see the horrors yet to come written by blood in the shifting sands Will our mission bring peace or something else about Could it be that I am the future of man? A once woken giant forced into slumber again The path to isolation deepens its sleep Converging on the prize sparks firefight Cannot shake the feeling of impending doom
2.
Proxy war escalates, paranoia as tensions mount Cornered and pinned down; threat level rise The worst traits will out; hellish backdrop The perfect storm gathers To be faced by we raiders of a new ark The cause could be followed back to a slowly building avalanche Forging a wealth imbalance from an awkward unsustainable dance Racing in ill-advised fashion power play - pre-emptive strike Here is ground zero Conflict epicenter Freedom fighter Eritrean Flight from danger She lead the way Saviour feminine power vacuum pre-emptive strike

Now extracted to relative safety; chance to take stock and unlock a new mystery Born of an enigma; layers of secrets to peel away Rarely do things transpire in the way that they were planned From obsession with the cosmos, you will come to understand Humbled before an origin that sprang from no hand but chance What about the light that shone from the desert, beamed across the Earth? You mean that tale of ignorance that fanatics then usurped? Yet real complex systems are not static structures to collapse So here we are, at odds, yet bound together As pieces of the puzzle fall into place; discover who we are at the core External resources, the saving grace; harness the engine
4.
Emerged from a temporal vortex Alone and confused, ripped from a tomb Salvaged from the edge Fused with machine, no reversal or reprieve Trapped by what I will forever be Even the smallest fear can be amplified by the void within Matter reassembled and impurities become creeping sin Through the gate that sealed my fate Genesis of my ruin Cast down to Earth From the brink of victory Never knew the end of my own story Reborn as the mage of god in answer to their prayers My mission manyfold as the enemy is revealed They want a new prophet? I will give it to them Confirmation bias Fortified by the caressing power of worship Resolve that comes from purpose My coronation in flames It was a mistake for Her to make room where there was none The disorder of chaos within has delivered me undone I, the adversary, will see the traitor dead Pave the way for overhaul, in a post everything world

Ice and Awe 07:19
Unremarkable rock in space Akin to Earth as it was in the first place Untapped reserves that would serve to render material worth obsolete Ice and ore Imagine if on that scale it were shared by all It would collapse a flawed economy and reconstruct the foundation of Society Is it too little too late? Waiting past that point - No option but to break A black swan Whose face was never masked Gathered up to strike with full force at last This second trick more esoteric Walk the quantum bridge Clairvoidance-tech will predict To avert annihilation Detect an impact by a pre-echo Across time In isolation we will save mankind Through ice and awe!

Unpredictable loop Past and future, the flipside Framed by the present edge Time, the delusion we comprehend Murder incarnate Malevolence in physical form Equal and opposite Will come a dream or memory of the unborn The gift of sight Clouded and clear Over the horizon The void beyond Spherical shield Staring into the eye of darkness Transfixed It must be the eye of god The showdown had been conceived On the basis of a lie Given over to the fire Now servant to The Eye Staring into the Eye of Darkness
8.
Golden Age 06:08
As witches once reviled by the authority that stood to lose I found myself in the same vacuum, in a brief moment of clarity Before the void swallowed the last trace of my identity Yet out of this, born from a single powerful dream Split from torment and willed into being While what we left behind is rebuilt in time Flood the Earth with abundance The old paradigm will perish Enlightened by a beacon of knowledge Shining upon the weary world All it takes is a mindshift to see the circle turning At the speed of life In return: all we ask is that you must simply learn As always we stand on the shoulders of giants To see a big picture, in overview Arc of the Earth, outlining our home ...for at least a billion more years to come The majestic roll of circling centuries begins Astraea returns, as would Saturn's reign, With a greater phase - a new golden age

about

Monsterworks :: Malignment is a continuation of the story that began with Spacial Operations (2007) and Singularity (2009)....

The strikeship Magma Maiden, having disappeared with her pilot Nate during the Blastnet offensive (a major event in the Singularity album), crash lands in the Eritrean mountains of a near-future Earth.

Nate is mortally wounded and his only hope of survival is to be fused with the ship’s A.I.. The move is successful but permanently affects the young man’s perception of reality.

Now alone and with no means of returning to his friends and family, two hundred years before his own birth, Nate must find a way to get by in this strange world; while attempting to keep his origins, technology and capabilities hidden.

The traveller’s appearance coincides with rising tensions across the globe due to dwindling resources. Various governments and corporations are working on solutions, chief among them being research into asteroid mining, enabled by efficient propulsion systems, by a brilliant scientific collective lead by John Merrick. After initially
falling in with Bola Duro, an Eritrean freedom fighter, Nate recognizes the man Merrick as the villain that may be responsible for the destruction of two civilisations in his own timeline. Through any means necessary, Nate becomes obsessed to stop the “mad
scientist” and save the future.

Unfortunately, he has gotten it all wrong.....

about

Monsterworks London, UK

MONSTERWORKS : has unashamedly stolen from a ludicrous number of metal sub-genres to create a truly unique beast. Be it thrash, death, old-school, prog or black metal, there is something for everyone. Expect wailing guitars, wailing screams and a pounding rhythm section, delivered by a four-man war of sound. Surely they can’t be serious? ... more
